BluPlusPlus Shadow Text Filter Tab

Additional information about the shadowtext filter is presented two ways:

  • Hover over any filter parameter on the figure below for a tooltip explaining the parameter.
  • Click on any filter parameter on the figure below to be taken to additional information about the selected parameter.

GUI Element Keep filters defined outside of Filter Management Tabs
Purpose: Specifies whether BPP should keep all filters NOT defined through the Filter Management Tabs
Values:true/false
Defaults: false
Notes:

By default BluPlusPlus deletes all previously defined filters before applying the filters specified on the filter management tabs.

heck this box to retain all filters defined outside the filter management tabs. This is important if either:

  • Since starting the current JAlbum session you used a different skin with a filter that you want applied to the current album
  • You generated an album with BPP with a filter defined on the Advanced tab rather than via the filter management tabs and you want it applied to the current album also
GUI Element Shadow text on Thumbs/Slides
Purpose: Enables/disables the shadow text filter on thumbnails or slides
Values: true/false
Defaults: false
Notes: The filter can be applied separately to thumbnail and slide images
GUI Element Prescale
Purpose: Specifies whether the filter is applied before or after JAlbum scales the image
Values: true/false
Defaults: false
Notes:

Prescale applies the filter to an image before JAlbum performs any image size scaling. That is, the text is superimposed first, then image scaling to create the thumbnails and slide images is performed. If prescale is NOT selected, image scaling to create the thumbnails and slide images is performed first, then the text is applied. The result will likely be different. Prescaling is particularly useful for thumbnails as the text will be proportionally reduced in size.

GUI Element Text
Purpose: Specifies the text to be superimposed on the image
Values: any text
Defaults:

GUI Element Color
Purpose: Specifies the color of the text to be superimposed on the image
Values: any valid color
Defaults: black
Notes: clicking brings up a color picker (a hexidecimal color code can be used)
GUI Element Margin
Purpose: Specifies the minimum distance (in pixels) of the text from the edge of the slide or thumbnail image.
Values: any number
Defaults: 0
Notes: The margin is applied on all four sides of the text
GUI Element Font face
Purpose: Specifies the font to be used for the text
Values: any font installed on the user’s system
Defaults: Sans Serif
Notes:  
GUI Element Font style
Purpose: Specifies the styling of the font
Values: plain/bold/italic/bolditalic
Defaults: plain
Notes:  
GUI Element Font size
Purpose: Specifies the size of the text
Values: any valid font size
Defaults:

GUI Element Horizontal Align
Purpose: Specifies the horizontal alignment of the text
Values: left/right/center
Defaults: left
Notes:  
GUI Element Vertical Align
Purpose: Specifies the vertical alignment of the text
Values: top/bottom/center
Defaults: top

GUI Element Horizontal Offset
Purpose: Moves the text to the right by the number of pixels specified
Values: any number
Defaults: 0
Notes: A negative horizontal offset moves the text to the left
GUI Element Vertical Offset
Purpose: Moves the text down by the number of pixels specified
Values: any number
Defaults: 0
Notes: A negative vertical offset moves the text up
GUI Element Anti-alias
Purpose: Enables/disables antialiasing of text
Values: true/false
Defaults: true
Notes: Antialiasing provides a “smoothing” of the text for better blending with the surrounding image
GUI Element Shadow Color
Purpose: Specifies the color of the shadow
Values: any valid color
Defaults: black
Notes: clicking brings up a color picker (a hexidecimal color code can be used)
GUI Element Shadow Distance
Purpose: Specifies the size of the shadow (in pixels)
Values: any number
Defaults: none
