Customizing Frames

Beginning with version 3.0, BluPlusPlus has a very flexible way to customize image frames for thumbnails and slide images.

There are three ways to customize frames:

  • Modify an existing frame
  • Implement a frame created by someone else
  • Create your own frame

Modify an existing frame

The properties that BluPlusPlus uses to create frames are stored in ‘.xbp’ files found in the BluPlusPlus-->frames folder. Use any text processor to edit a particular ‘.xbp’ file. The XBorder Reference Guide provides information about frame properties.

Hint: One can “tinker” with a frame by opening a ‘.xbp’ file in a text processor, making changes, saving the file, and use the ‘Preview’ button on the BluPlusPlus-Frames tab to see a quick preview of the new frame created.

Implement a frame created by someone else

If someone else has created a frame that one wishes to implement, move the ‘.xbp’ file to the BluPlusPlus-->frames folder. The new frame will be available in the frame drop down menus.

Create your own frame

To create your own frame you must understand how XBorderFilter works its magic. Please consult the XBorder Reference Guide for more information.
