A Powerful, Flexible “Skin” for the Photo Album Generator JAlbum
Applies to BluPlusPlus version 4.3 (see Changes
History) and refers to JAlbum version 8.1.x
BluPlusPlus (BPP)
is a powerful and flexible “skin” for the photo album generator JAlbum. Created by Armond
Avanes, BPP draws from the best features of other JAlbum skins and adds new features of
its own. It is highly customizable, enabling the user to choose from many options to allow
the creation of photo albums of great variety. Flexibility and power bring a degree of complexity.
This documentation is intended to permit a user new to JAlbum to get started with BPP while
providing the experienced JAlbum user the information necessary to understand all the options
for user customization.

Disclaimer
While every attempt has been made to ensure accuracy of this documentation,
errors are bound to be present, due to several factors, including
Murphy’s
Law and the near-universal tendency for documentation to lag behind software
development, not to mention the incomplete understanding of the author.
Please note that this is NOT the official documentation for JAlbum and errors,
omissions, inconsistencies, etc. should not be considered those of David Ekholm,
the author of JAlbum.
A note about the screenshots
This documentation was created on a Mac, and the principal author is a Macophile.
He is no PCophobe, and recognizes that the vast majority of users will
have Windows machines. This presents a bit of a dilemma. Simply saying “most
users have Windows, so all screenshots should be from Windows machines” just
contributes to the marginalization of Macs, which would be a shame, as
many of the features of modern Windows machines were first implemented
in the Mac OS (the fundamental notion of “windows”, for example!).
So, a compromise was struck: screenshots where the difference between
the Mac
and Windows looks
would be dramatic (such as the JAlbum tabs) were taken from a Windows
machine; screenshots where the information is just as clear in a Mac
screenshot were taken from a machine running Mac OS X. Hope this works
for you...
